4:02 pm - Williamsburg
My boss sent me this link http://theburg.tv/index.html which has short episodes of some hipster sitcom called "The Burg" about Williamsburg and it's kinda funny. I especially enjoy scenes from Barcade, the best bar in the world.

3:28 pm - Chinatown
I work in a mid-nineteenth century office building (with amazing molding and elevators) at the nexus of the universe. I'm on lower Broadway, a few blocks north of the Foley Square/City Hall/South District Courts complex. I'm also a block south from the architecturally and socioeconomically different neighborhood of Soho. Due west, about one block (Church Street), I begin to notice renovated cast iron buildings with very trendy, and very pricey, Tribeca restaurants and clubs. Tribeca continues as you go westwards.

But I must mention, I overwhelmingly work in Chinatown. Chinatown tends to be gritty and somewhat run down, but has lots of amazing supply stores and knock off crap and rediculously cheap restaurants (with ducks hanging in the window), not to mention a fair share of opium and heroin. From my office I can see two semi-dilapidated buildings that are in desparate need of a facade repair (funny how different one block looks from the next). It wasn't until today, during the pouring rain, that I saw inside the buildings where there were HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of Asian women and children furiously sewing clothes!! I mean if this isn't healht hazard, then OSHA has to reevaluate its rulings. I can't believe I work next to sweatshops.

1:43 pm - Writing
So I'm sitting with my extremely large coffee, about to finish watching The Nanny, and then I'm getting cracking. Last night this asshole from school IMed me to tell me how much a slacker I am. I hated him and still do but I'm over it.

Last night I went with Sarah and Nick to meet Josh B. for his first living in the city drink!! Welcome to New York, Joshy B. He has such a pre-party apartment.

8:17 pm - The disco lights come on
Here are a few tidbits of things that were awesome about Canada and how/where I have been the past whatever.

So my parents fucking sucked and instead of letting me fly direct from JFK, I had to fly to fucking Dallas to meet them and then fly up to Calgary with them. It sucked ass cuz I had to get a taxi at 5am and couldn't even take public transportation at that hour since it's fekakt with the buses. There went $25! But whatever.

Banff is something like 100 kilometers or whatever from Calgary. Of course the entire time I had no idea how to convert any metric unit to anything familiar so I just tried to guess. What do you say when someone tells you it's 9 degrees outside? I wasn't about to multiply anything by nine-fifths and then add 38 or whatever. Solution: t-shirt, sweater with you at all times, pants. Shorts were a gamble, as I learned the first night.

It is so gorgeous up in the mountains and the air is so fresh and clean and everyone of course was so nice and friendly and accommodating and very un-American. They didn't hate Americans, at least not to our faces. I'm sure they hate us, and who can blame them? Someone asked me what province we were in and I said Ottawa. Not only were we in Alberta, but Ottawa is a city, not a provence. Very embarassing.

Note to all: we must make it up to the Northwest Territory. Super scary and very far!

It stayed light out until at LEAST 10:30pm.

Drinks and food were unbelievable expensive a la New York City, but there were no festering puddles of water and trash, so at least it was cleaner!

I ate delicious food and got a massage and didn't masturbate once but did kiss a girl at a bar who only spoke French and it was easy because everyone from other countries thinks you are a celebrity if you say you live in NYC and you can drink at 18 in Alberta so everyone was young and sort of attractive and wanted to make out with me! But I am very handsome so who can blame them? I'm just kidding, or am I?

It was a very relaxing vacation. Espectially when we found waka which was super super crystally and hairy and it was divine. I didn't see one cop the entire time.

So I'm very pro-Canada and at some point I plan on taking a cross country train and stopping wherever I see fit. I'd like to go by myself but I'll take company if someone wants to go. I'll remind ya'all in two years when I'm done with school.

Um I finished my first year of law school. But I still have this fucking paper to write on international human rights and implied rights of action. I don't want to do it but it's the final stretch.

I start my job next tuesday!!! Yay for me!!! My parents and grandparents are coming to the area for my cousin's Jewish confirmation thing in New Jersey. The whole mishpuchah is coming to the city on Saturday to hang out and eat and do things. How are they all gonna fit in my apartment?!?!??!? That will be fun.

ATTENTION ALL: I AM FINALLY, AND EXCITEDLY, TAKING THE FUNG WAH BUS TO BOSTON THIS FRIDAY TO SEE RACHEL AND IT'S GOING TO FUCKING ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rachel thank you for letting me stay with you and I can't wait to eat with you. And eat you. Alive.

Oh livejournal, how much fun thee is!

Oh yea, remember when we got our Bev letters? That was fun.

7:11 pm - Americanism
Ok so I'll write all about my Canada trip because it's worth writing, but not right now since I just showered, just got back to my apartment and have to head to the west side to get my shit for the writing competition (which I should also write about) and then pass out because I haven't slept in like three weeks kinda sorta.

I'm ready to get back into it I decided.

I'm in Canada. I love it. How is everyone? Is livejournal dead? Has nature replaced G-d? Thoughts?

Rachel, I'm still coming to Beanertown for Memorial Day weekend. Is that cool?
